Five Sentence Fiction ~ Glimmer

What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week I will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.

This week’s word: Glimmer

by John Yeo

The investigating detective was questioning a burglary suspect, a regular offender who was caught in the act.
“You mean, you really are pleading your innocence, you were caught in the act of trying to enter the house!
You are entitled to a lawyer even though you haven’t got a glimmer of hope, lawyers cannot change reality.”
After consultation, the lawyer affirmed the plea of innocence as he had an explanation.
“Yes”‘ shouted the suspect, “I saw a glimmer of light coming from the back window and I thought the house was on fire, I forgot it was Christmas.”
