When the team heard the dam explode they knew they had limited time to make it to safety.

A raging torrent hit the assault craft, Colonel Tom pushed the button on his radio phone and called for help.
Things had moved fast since the casino raid and two teams were on a mission to rescue Bella, who had miraculously survived the carnage after Dr Dickus escaped. A ransom message had been found written in blood on the wall of the warehouse.
Colonel Tom and Marg’s team were aboard an assault craft heading for a secluded river island. The water becoming rougher became a raging torrent. Perhaps it was fate mused Marg as she stared death in the face, pictures of her life flooded through her mind.
The Brigadiers team raced to the rescue, to their horror they came upon the craft upside down, caught up in a floating tree. There was no sign of Colonel Tom, Marg or the team.
Then the Brigadiers cell phone sounded……………

To be continued.

  1. Well, Marg’s team have been left in another precarious situation! My guess is they either managed to swim to the bank or there’s an air pocket beneath the upturned raft. Of course, it’s likey to be neither and I’ll just have to wait and see. Nicely done, John. πŸ™‚

  2. I’m starting to think Marg should quit and go work in a bank or something πŸ™‚ Her life’s never dull!
I’m sure she’ll escape this situation as well, wherever she and her team are.

    • Now there’s a thought Ali ~ That would be a great twist ~ Undercover bank clerk ~ Wouldn’t there be some surprised would-be robbers facing the indomitable Marg!

  3. What were the words written in blood? Marg is reliving scenes from her life…surely she has to escape! I am glad that Bella survived! I am looking forward to the next installment John! Thanks for participating yet again and see you next week! Be well… ^..^

    • Thanks Babs ~ I love your wonderful prompts and I am looking forward to continuing ~ I don’t think we will ever lose our heroine ~ Keep up the great work your challenge has an ever-expanding interesting group of contributors ~ πŸ™‚

  4. You always end with a breath-taking partial sentence. I think perhaps Marg was a pearl diver on her holidays, perhaps an Olympic gold medalist in synchronized swimming, or participates in deep-breath diving allowing her to stay under-water for a long period allowing her to search for Colonel Tom and members of the team. Or none of the above! πŸ™‚
I really am enjoying each installment in your story.

    • phylor ~ Thanks for that wonderful series of suppositions ~ Even the Brigadier is unsure about her survival skills~ I think an upturned umbrella propelled by nuclear fusion could be involved here. ~

      • That sounds good; Marg does lead an exciting life — why not nuclear fusion! Hope it doesn’t affect her life later — unless she gets some super-power, lol.

  6. Missed a few … I just want to sit down and read the whole book now! πŸ™‚
But since I too am writing a series or serial… I know how that goes.
Thanks for your visit. It reminds me to come and see how Marg and the team are doing.
