GALLIVANTING

by John Yeo

The wanderers would gallivant,

The juggler and ringmaster

The clowns leading the elephant

When the big top was erected.

The smell of diesel oil, mingled with animal excrement.

Drifted over the hedge of the vicarage.

A tiger  went to gallivant and stalked the vicar.

Without sentiment.
